Drugs roared onto the UK scene in the early 1980's with the introduction of the love drug, Ecstasy. Prior to that many other drugs had been in use: from the opium days of the 50's; to the happy days of the purple hearts in the 60's; and on to the cocaine snorting years of the 70's. No one was ready for the explosion that occurred with the introduction of the rave scene.
